Nine of Coins
A courtesan, a kept woman- a bird in a gilded cage. The rewards of luxury are many, and are meant to be enjoyed, but be wary of the bars of your entrapment- even an opulent prison is still a prison, even the most beautiful marionette has strings.
There’s no shame in enjoying indolence or luxury, provided that one is aware of the price being paid. Everything has strings of consent or obligation or reciprocity; the only truly altruistic action is an accidental action. It’s when the bars or strings are unnoticed at first, or not fully comprehended, that one runs into problems, and begins to feel trapped.
What have you consented to? How can you make full use of the gains your consent has garnered you? Is what you’ve gained worth what you have compromised?
