Five of Staves

When is a battle not really a battle? What’s the line between playing and fighting?

The Five of Staves is a playful sparring. It’s competition, no doubt about it, and everybody wants to win. But winning is a prize, and losing comes with no harsh costs. No life is at stake,  no real honor lost if one is not the victor. It’s friends sparring together, siblings tussling. In the end, the winner claims some victory, but the bond between fighters remains strong and unbroken.

In the end, everybody comes out stronger.
