Five of Blades

The battle is over and victory is had, but only just. It’s a win that is obtained with blood, sweat and tears. One that was bitterly wrested from an opponent.

This is not a victory dance. No celebration and glory. This is a victory that leaves more questions, the ground littered with bodies and wounds too numerous to count.  What cost does it take to win? How much is worth it?

Would it have been better to walk away? When does winning become too costly to be worthwhile? Just because you can struggle through the fight doesn’t mean you won’t pay the price.
